About us
The culinary delights from the typical Yucatecan kitchen are made from a mouthwatering mixture of Mexican and European flavours.
A bit of history will explain the strong European influences throughout history. The Yucatan Peninsula has been considered too far and too difficult to reach from the rest of Mexico. Mountainous terrain and very poor roads had kept the Peninsula all to itself.
Having ports along with cultural and commercial ties with Europe (especially France), New Orleans and Cuba, the Yucatecans were easily influenced in the many aspects of these other countries, i.e. dress, architecture and cooking. The culinary mixture left some extremely delicious menus behind.
